Introduction to Computer
In
the modern era, computers are an essential part of our life in everyday
existence. That means computers are present in almost every field, making our
day-to-day tasks easier and faster. Nowadays, computers can be seen in banks,
shops, schools, hospitals, railways, and many more places, including office and
our home to type documents, send email, play games,
and browse the Web, edit or create spreadsheets, presentations,
and even videos. As they are such an essential part of our lives, we must
know about the basic computer introduction. Let us start with defining the
computer first:
Definition
of Computer
A computer is a programmable electronic device that accepts user raw data as input and process it under the control of a set of instructions referred to as programs (software) to produce the desired information as output. After processing, it stores the information in storage memory for future use.
Input
Process Output Cycle (I-P-O Cycle)
The IPO Cycle is termed as Input-Processing-Output Cycle. A computer receives data as input, processes it, stores it and then produces output
Four
Phases of the I-P-O Cycle
1. Input: Computer
receives raw data and instructions as input.
2. Process: Computer applies set of instructions (programs) to data
to produce information (organized Data).
3. Storage: Store the output (information) for use in future.
4. Output: Computer sends information as output.
